Design and Implementation

Design and Implementation

Our staff of engineers will create a design specification based on your operational philosophy. We include alarm, redundancy and security concepts. Working with you, we identify and document your principal requirements in a functional specification. We determine interfaces to third party equipment and define your communication needs. A bill of materials is created, followed by a layout of cabinets and development of the remote panels.

A Software Design Document clearly details the control functionality.

After design approval, the implementation phase begins. In it, all logic is created as well as graphics, alarm logs and reports, A low fidelity simulation model will be developed and used to validate the code during Factory Acceptance Test. The purchasing and/or manufacturing of the equipment will be initiated simultaneously.

For Siemens PCS7 and PCS neo projects, Pigler Automation will utilize advanced engineering tools for the development and testing of the control code: Process Automation Accelerator (PAA) for the bulk engineering of the Control Module Types (CMT) based on the Siemens Advanced Process Library (APL) and Virtual commissioning tool (SIMIT) as the digital twin to mimic the field responses back to the DCS. Using SIMIT allows for a shorter and more thorough testing of the control code and HMI during FAT, which will dramatically improve the quality of the control code and HMI.An effective, efficient, and reasonably priced design and implementation plan of your project is our pledge to you.
