At Metal Works of High Point, we offer a variety of industrial welding services, including robotic welding, spot welding, tungsten inert gas (TIG), and metal inert gas (MIG) welding. The most common types of welding for industrial fabrication are MIG and TIG welding:

• MIG welding is a manual and versatile welding method capable of joining a variety of metals. A consumable wire electrode is heated and melts in conjunction with the workpiece material, producing a strong bond to join two disparate sections of metal. 
• TIG welding method uses heat from an arc between the workpiece and a non-consumable electrode made from tungsten, which is known for its ability to withstand extreme heat. This type of welding requires a high level of manual skill and is often automated. TIG welding is more effective with non-ferrous metals that are difficult to weld with other methods.
