AT2 XY Stage

The Instron Automated XY Stage Testing System is designed for automated compression or tension testing of devices and/or components with multiple and repetitive test points or locations such as medical devices, syringes, keypads or pill crush via a motorized XY Stage. The XY stage easily mounts to a 5942 (1kn) or 5944 (2kN) single column testing frame. Instron's TestMaster Automation Control Software provides ease of control of the system configuration to meet a variety of testing needs. The stage positions are taught via a simple used interface located in TestMaster's Utilities tab. The system works seamlessly with Bluehill® Software to develop test methods to control the test, and to provide results that can be as simple as pass/fail upon end of test.

Within industries such as the medical device industry, many components, sub-assemblies, or end products have multiple elements, like leads, that need to be tested independently of one another. Often the elements tested are in close proximity to one another. Using the Automated XY Stage System, the specimen is fixed onto the system and testing can be performed on the individual elements. Once configured, the XY Stage automatically relocates the specimen so that the element can be tested without having to re-install the specimen. Additionally, when initial alignment is critical for successful testing, the XY Stage Testing System provides the ability for repeatable and quick results, including applications like insertion and withdrawal testing or precision bend testing. The flexibility of the Automated XY Stage allows it to adapt for testing of many specimens, devices, or components.
