Brow Alert

Hard-Line’s Brow Alert System was designed to deter an operator from manually driving a vehicle past the brow line of a stope.

When the manual/remote switch is in the manual position, the Brow Alert system is active.

The system has two zones – the yellow zone and the red zone. Entering the yellow zone alerts the operator it is time to stop the vehicle and get out, and will activate the amber strobe light.

Entering the red zone will activate the red strobe light, shut down the vehicle completely and engage the brakes. Once a vehicle has been locked in the red zone only a supervisor can unlock the machine. When the manual/remote switch is in the remote position, the Brow Alert system is deactivated.

The system functions by means of two RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags that sense when the vehicle passes a certain checkpoint. When the module on the vehicle passes by one of the RFID tags, the Brow Alert system is triggered.
