HE2800 Locomotive Battery Health Tester

HE2800 Locomotive Battery Health Tester

HE2800 Locomotive Battery Health Tester

Test the locomotives cranking ability by load testing both batteries together directly at the knife

Generally, locomotives have two 32 Volt batteries in series. This top-level solution tests those batteries as a pair by loading them at a level modeling the cranking of the diesel engine. Each battery is measured independently while under load to determine voltage drop and, therefore, health.

OPTIONAL UPGRADES

Option #1 Separate Voltage Sense COM

Provides a separate cable for the common connection on the voltage sense leads. Useful if voltage is being measured at a location other than the battery, i.e. the knife switch.

Option #2 Quick Connect High-Current leads

High current cable that goes to the knife switch is fitted with a quick connector at the tester to better facilitate cable change without needing to disassemble the tester.

Option #3 Additional Flying High-Current Leads: (Requires Option #2)

An additional set of high-current leads will be shipped with the tester that terminate in the right lugs instead of the standard knife connection plug. Generally used for bolting directly to batteries not installed in a locomotive.
