Compression Springs are open-coiled helical springs that resist compressive force.
Typically closed ends are preferred because they allow a greater degree of squareness and prevent tangling. Grinding the ends permits even more squareness control and inhibits buckling. A compression spring design is critical to ensure a compression spring functions within physical constraints without being over-stressed or at risk of fatigue failure.
We manufacture compression springs in various forms including cylindrical, conical, concave (hourglass), & convex (barrel). We manufacture compression springs as small as 0.012” wire diameter and as large as 0.148” wire diameter.
