Pressure/vacuum pumps or combined pumps were originally developed specifically for the printing industry. The feeder requirements of a sheetfed press require a vacuum to grip each sheet while using the print side or air blast to ensure sheets are separated. Combined pumps from Becker achieve a vacuum level of -0.6 bar and a maximum pressure of +0.6 bar at the same time. This is achieved by using a secondary suction port so that the blast air side is not affected when the vacuum level is increased. Although the pressure market is the primary use for these pumps, other non-pressure customers have also found these pumps to be the perfect fit.
