The DC switches are intended for applications with solar panels. The solar cells are always switched on because they always receive sun. The panels generate DC voltage and this is converted into alternating current in an inverter. The voltage is thus quite large directly from the solar panels and therefore it is important that the DC voltage can be broken quickly in order to be able to work with other equipment in the plant. The DC switch must be placed between the solar panels and the inverter. Preferably in as direct connection as possible to the solar panels. In some cases, the inverter is equipped with a switch. This switch can be difficult to access. If the solar panels are, for example, placed on the roof, it is a good idea to also place the DC switch on the roof, in order to be able to quickly break the DC current already on the ceiling.
