Socket head cap screws are machine screws with cylindrical heads containing a socket, usually hexagonal, though other varieties such as those with torx drive are also available. Perfect for applications requiring a compact, yet strong, bolt. The most common socket head cap screw is DIN 912, though often people need them to be countersunk, therefore ISO 10642. The DIN 912 and ISO 4762 are exactly the same dimensions. Though DIN 7991 is commonly requested for countersunk, the DIN standard has been replaced with ISO 10642. There are some slight dimensional differences between the countersunk DIN and ISO at select sizes
