These aluminum bronze alloys are wear resistant and exhibit good welding characteristics as well as exceptional mechanical properties. They withstand corrosion in many environments including seawater, chlorides, and dilute acids. These alloys are considered non-sparking and suitable for equipment designed to handle explosives, petroleum, chemical and gas products. Aluminum bronze alloys containing more than 10% aluminum can be heat treated to boost their mechanical properties.
