Tin-Lead Plating

Tin-Lead Plating

Tin-Lead Plating

Tin-lead alloy plating can range from 50% tin to 95% tin. Changes to the alloy content of metals will affect the melting point. Like tin plating, the color can range from matte gray to full bright.

Used commonly to prevent the growth of whiskers, tin/lead performs exceptionally when joining metals, providing a strong reliable bond. Tin/lead plating provides similar contact resistance and corrosion resistance to tin and outperforms tin during soldering operations.
