The superheater/reheater is often affected by unevenly distributed deposits on the surfaces. They reduce the efficiency of the boiler and lead to unplanned shutdowns. The flue gas temperatures of up to 1,500 °C may lead to slagging and make cleaning the affected areas even more difficult.
