Meter Frames-Covers
Bingham and Taylor manufactures a wide variety of cast iron frames and covers for residential and commercial meter settings. Locking and non-locking styles are available. Lids are available in cast iron and plastic, with designs to accommodate all AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) technologies including hand-held, wired and wireless telephony platforms, RF, and power line transmission. Our products are favored by utility professionals thanks to their high quality and interchangeability with competitors' products.
Available styles:
"A" Style Frame and Cover: Lid is flush with the frame for installation in driveway, sidewalk, and lawn installations.
"C" Style Frame and Cover: Overlapping (raised) style lid is used primarily in lawn installations.
"W" Style Frame and Cover: Frost-proof meter frame and cover is designed for colder climates. Frame is supplied with a plastic inner lid which further protects the meter from freezing. Lid is flush with the frame and can be used in driveway, sidewalk, and lawn installations. "A" style lids are compatible with this style frame.
Flat Covers are available in 18", 24", and 27" diameters in solid or flipper lid styles.
High strength plastic meter lids are also available. Manufactured to exceed a 20,000 lb. load rating, these lids are interchangeable with our cast iron lids and are compatible with most AMR technologies. They are manufactured using the highest grade of Hydrozone HDPE material, are UV resistant, and are available in the following broad range of sizes and designs:
