Metso awarded major valve solution order for Jamnagar Phase 3 oil refinery in India

Metso received in 2014 significant repeat order for valves with accessories and spare parts for Jamnagar Phase 3 refinery, the projects are being implemented at the world's largest oil refinery located at Jamnagar Gurajat, India. The refinery complex is owned and operated by Reliance Industries Limited.  

Metso's delivery scope to the Jamnagar Phase 3 includes on-off valves, ball and butterfly valves ranging from 1" to 30" in size from the Neles®, Mapag® and Jamesbury® product portfolios. The delivery also includes accessories and spare parts.

During 2014 Metso received several orders for the Jamnagar Phase 3 project. A considerable part of the total order value was booked to Metso's 2014 fourth-quarter orders received.

In a typical refinery or petrochemical project, Metso's product range covers up to 90% of the needed valves. Reliable valve solutions are very critical components in refinery processes. The valves must withstand significantly demanding process conditions, such as high pressure and temperature, toxic and corrosive fluid, vibration and pressure shock under normal service conditions, and must meet all safety requirements. Furthermore, customers are constantly developing their processes that continue to lead to higher efficiency and enhanced value addition, and this relies on highly reliable valve solutions.
