Introduction:

GE Vernova has been chosen by Yangtze Power for the enhancement of the Xiangjiaba Hydropower Plant in China, as per their recent announcement.

Features:

The project's scope of work encompasses the design, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of three sets of primary shaft air supply pipes. Anticipated completion for this upgrade is set for the first half of 2024.

By replacing these air supply pipes, the enhancement will result in a more effective sealing mechanism, ensuring the continued efficiency of the hydropower plant.

This project serves as a significant energy source, transmitting power from western regions to East China and providing clean electricity to approximately five million individuals annually. Beyond its power generation capabilities, it contributes to flood prevention, enhances shipping conditions, and supports agricultural irrigation in the area. As a result, it is estimated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by an impressive 12 million tons each year, equivalent to the emissions of two million vehicles.
