Introduction:
ABB announced that it will invest an additional $110 million in the United States in 2025 to expand its R&D and manufacturing capabilities for advanced electrification solutions. This move aims to support customers in enhancing energy efficiency and uptime while lowering energy costs.
Features:
The investment will create nearly 200 new jobs and support anticipated growth in key sectors, including data centers and the power grid. The rapid expansion of data centers in the US is expected to drive annual electricity demand growth above 2% in both 2025 and 2026 — more than double the average growth rate over the past decade (IEA).
ABB plans to invest $15 million to add a new production line for its innovative Emax 3 circuit breakers at its Senatobia, Mississippi plant. These advanced air circuit breakers help enhance energy security and strengthen the resilience of power systems in large-scale facilities such as data centers, advanced manufacturing plants, and airports.
The new production line is expected to become operational in 2026.
