NanoComposix Launches New Website with Free NanoComposix University Courses

20 March 2019

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- NanoComposix launched a new website for 2019, www.nanocomposix.com which features new navigation tools, more application content, and "nanoComposix University"– a series of nanoparticle instructional courses that provide detailed information on how to functionalize, integrate and characterize a wide range of nanoparticles for a variety of different applications.  "Our mission at nanoComposix is to provide both the nanomaterials and instruction necessary for researchers to rapidly test hypotheses and to build functional prototypes," says CEO and founder, Dr. Steven Oldenburg.

NanoComposix University offers over 70 articles organized into 10 courses that range from the properties of gold and silver nanoparticles to nanotoxicology – the study of the safety of nanoparticles on human health and the environment. The lateral flow immunoassay course describes how to build ultra-sensitive diagnostic assays by attaching antibodies to the surface of gold nanoshells.  Similar to the common home-based pregnancy tests, these lateral flow rapid tests can now be combined with mobile phone based readers to measure a broad range of diseases and physiological conditions.

NanoComposix is a privately held company in San Diego, California, and works closely with clients to transition nanoparticle-based technologies from lab scale proof-of-concept prototypes to commercial-scale application.  For product selection the initial step is critical for our site visitors to have information at their disposal at the early material selection phase to make an informed decision.

NanoComposix has unique expertise in the development, fabrication, processing and scale up manufacturing of nanoparticles with tailored surface chemistry for use in lateral flow assays, drug delivery, photothermal therapeutics, plasmonic and other applications. NanoComposix has previously carried out the scaled manufacture of colloidal nanomaterials for customers under a cGMP- and ISO 13485-compliant quality management system and these materials have been used as components of medical devices in clinical trials and therapeutics.
