Digi-Key Announces Winner of Coveted Camaro at electronica

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn., Nov. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- A 2018 Chevrolet Camaro V8 Convertible was the big giveaway at Digi-Key Electronics' booth at electronica in Munich and the winner is deserving of the prize. Marco E., a university student studying for his bachelor's thesis from Regensburg, Germany, attended electronica to get a feeling for current market trends.

His name was drawn at random, and he received the "teaser" call at an unusual time.

"I was sitting in a lecture when I got the call from Digi-Key asking if I could come back to the show Friday morning," commented Marco. "Later that night I couldn't sleep because I was curious if I had won the car of if I was just a finalist."

When Marco arrived at the event Friday morning, the good news he was hoping for was confirmed.

"After meeting the Digi-Key team I asked for more information and was speechless after they shook my hand and told me I won the car," he said.

The winner of the car is also offered the opportunity to take the cash value of the prize instead. After careful consideration, Marco decided to take the cash option.

"I've decided that I'm going to take the money but save it and not spend it," he said. "However, I do think I'm going to rent a Camaro very similar to this one for a week and pick up my friends with it and drive around town."
