Neousys Unveils New Compact Expansion Box-PC Featuring 4 PCIe/PCI Slots

Neousys Technology, a leading provider of rugged embedded systems, has announced the launch of the Nuvo-2822, a compact expansion box-PC powered by the Intel® Alder Lake N processor. Featuring four PCIe/PCI slots, the Nuvo-2822 offers a perfect balance of compactness and flexibility, making it ideal for integrating industrial expansion cards like AI-enabled frame grabbers. This versatile system supports seamless upgrades to AI-powered computing platforms, driving innovation in intelligent manufacturing.

At the core of the Nuvo-2822 is an Intel N97 processor, with a 4-core/4-thread architecture and a 12W TDP, ensuring reliable performance and long-term stability, even in demanding automation control environments. Its compact design makes it particularly suitable for installations in confined spaces within automated equipment.

The Nuvo-2822 is designed with ease of integration in mind, featuring front-accessible I/O ports for quick and simple connections to peripheral devices. It supports a range of industrial I/Os, including two Ethernet ports with I210-IT controllers, two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports with screw-lock mechanisms for secure connections to industrial cameras, an 8-channel isolated DIO, and four COM ports. These features ensure compatibility with industrial sensors, indicators, motors, and actuators.

With two PCIe and two PCI slots, the Nuvo-2822 offers extensive expansion options for video capture and motion control cards, making it ideal for diverse factory automation applications. It's also compatible with Neousys' 100 TOPS Intelligent Frame Grabber Card, powered by NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX, allowing easy upgrades of x86 systems to AI inference-capable edge computing platforms.

In response to the growing demand for energy-efficient solutions in smart factories, warehouses, and cities, the Nuvo-2822 includes a Super Power Saving Mode, reducing power consumption during idle and shutdown states. Its robust design supports operation in a wide temperature range of -10°C to 70°C, and it meets MIL-STD-810H standards for vibration and shock resistance, making it suitable for harsh environments and small cabinets.
