Department of Heavy Industries, Government of India will co-host WIN INDIA 2016 in Mumbai to Promote Indian Capital Goods Manufacturing

HANNOVER.  Representing the Indian delegation at the world’s renowned engineering fair, Hannover Messe 2016, Department of Heavy Industry (DHI), Government of India signed an MOU with Deustche Messe’s Indian subsidiary Hannover Milano Fairs India for partnering and co-hosting India’s leading engineering & manufacturing Show – WIN INDIA for next three editions.  WIN INDIA 2016 is a global event for hi-tech engineering & manufacturing technologies and intra-logistics in India, which will be scheduled from 1-3 December, 2016 at the centrally located MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex,  Mumbai. The MoU signing took place on 26th April at the Hannover Messe exhibition fair grounds in Hannover, Germany, in the presence of Ambassador of India to Germany, Mr. Gurjit Singh, Mr. Girish Shankar, Secretary, DHI , Mr. M.S. Unnikrishnan, Co-Chairman – FICCI, Capital Goods Committee, Mr. Vikram Vardhan, Second Secretary, Embassy of India, Berlin, Mr. Talwinder  Singh Basin, Chairman, EEPC (Export Engineering Promotion Council) and Mr. Mehul Lanvers-Shah, Managing Director, Hannover Milano Fairs India Pvt Ltd.



Department of Heavy Industry (DHI) under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprise, Government of India will partner with FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) to be the lead agency for executing the partnership for WIN INDIA. This partnership is to work jointly towards promoting India’s high tech engineering and capital goods manufacturing industry as a part of Government of India’s ‘Make In India’ campaign. This parntership MoU will be a significant step in enhancing India’s growth & development of the Heavy Electrical, Capital Goods, Auto sectors and support skill development as well as encourage innovation & R&D in this sector in India.



Mehul Lanvers-Shah, Managing Director, Hannover Milano Fairs India Pvt Ltd. said  Indian manufacturing industry contributes around 16% of the country’s GDP and less than 2% of the overall global manufacturing output. India is an attractive hub for foreign investments in manufacturing sector. Several companies have set up or are looking to establish their manufacturing bases in India. We are very happy to have DHI’s support to partner with us in promoting India’s high tech engineering and  Capital Goods  companies, Research and Innovation and bring State Governments and other local and global players together to develop the industry. This will be our second year of partnership with a committment of partnering with WIN INDIA for next three editions. In partnership with DHI, we along with FICCI, will also organise industry roadshows in 10 cities to garner participation and interest from domestic players.”



Adapting to the transforming industrial landscape, WIN INDIA 2016 will move from the Political capital to the Commercial capital – Mumbai this year. The western region has fast developed as the manufacturing & engineering hub with emergence of industrial belts such as Chakan-Ranjangaon-Talegaon, etc. 



WIN INDIA 2016 will bring together 3 concurrent shows such IA India (Industrial Automation INDIA), presenting a comprehensive range of products and technologies for factory, process and industrial building automation; MDA INDIA (Motion Drive & Automation) , comprising products in Hydraulics & Pneumatics and Mechanical power transmission and CeMAT INDIA, showcasing technologies in material handling, logistics and warehousing solutions. At WIN INDIA’s 2015 edition, 350 exhibitors from 21 countries along with 3 country pavilions (Germany, Korea & China) demonstrated cutting-edge technologies and solutions for modernizing factories and warehouses and was attended by 9,400+ decision makers and buyers.  A high ranking German Delegation led by State Secretary Mrs. Daniela Behrens, Ministry of Economics, Labour and Transport of Niedersachsen, along with Shri Anant Geete, Minister for Heavy Industy and Public Enterprises, Central Govt. inaugurated the show.
