Iran launches new hydroelectric power plant

Iran has commissioned a new hydroelectric power plant aiming to raise the country's hydropower generation capacity to around 12,000 MW, an Iran Daily report said.

Iran has made progress in developing renewable energies by establishing hydropower and solar power plants, Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian said, as inaugurated the hydropower plant at Roodbar Dam, in Aligoudarz, in the western province of Lorestan, according to the report, which cited Tasnim News Agency.
