Rockwell Automation Launches Unified Edge-to-Cloud Control Platform For North American Process Industries

Rockwell Automation has announced the launch of a new unified edge-to-cloud control platform for process and hybrid manufacturers in North America, targeting large operators in chemicals, oil and gas, power generation, food and beverage, and specialty materials production. Designed as an integrated control, data, and security stack, the platform brings together a next-generation distributed control system (DCS), industrial edge compute, and secure cloud analytics into a single architecture that can be deployed plant-wide or across multi-site operations. By consolidating historically siloed control, historian, and advanced analytics environments, Rockwell aims to help industrial companies improve asset utilization, increase visibility across their installed base, and reduce the lifecycle cost of automation ownership.
At the core of the new offering is a modular process automation controller and I/O family engineered for high availability, hot-swappable components, and flexible redundancy options suitable for continuous and batch applications. The controller platform supports standardized function blocks, advanced regulatory control, and recipe management, while also exposing process variables and events via modern industrial protocols compatible with existing PLC and SCADA environments.
