Advantech and Axelera AI Deepen Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Europa-Powered Edge AI Innovation
17 November 2025
Advantech, a globally recognized leader in IoT intelligent systems and embedded platforms, has today unveiled a significant strategic collaboration with Axelera AI, a pioneering provider of Artificial Intelligence Processing Units (AIPU). This partnership will see the two industry leaders join forces to develop a new generation of Edge AI acceleration modules, leveraging the capabilities of the cutting-edge Europa AIPU. The collaboration underpins both companies’ commitment to propelling advancements within industrial automation, specifically catering to critical sectors such as robotics, smart city infrastructure, intelligent surveillance, and advanced medical imaging in the European market.
At the core of this initiative is Advantech’s new Edge AI Acceleration Module, the EAI-3841 series, which proudly integrates Axelera’s Europa AIPU. This module delivers remarkable performance benchmarks, achieving up to 629 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) and supporting as much as 164GB of high-speed LPDDR5 memory. Its architecture, featuring eight dedicated AI cores, integrated RAM per compute unit, and a built-in video decoder, is engineered to handle real-time, complex model analysis. Use cases covered include Vision-Language Models (VLM), Vision Transformers (VITs), and advanced multi-camera analyses required for future-proofed intelligent factory solutions.
Announcing this partnership, Joey Hsu, Director of Advantech’s Embedded Sector, emphasized, "This collaboration with Axelera AI marks an important milestone in Advantech’s AI acceleration roadmap. By harnessing Axelera’s advanced neural processing technologies and combining them with our proven system design expertise and global deployment capabilities, we are enabling customers across Europe to deploy cutting-edge AI solutions at speed and scale." Nicolas Silvestre, Director of Sales, APAC at Axelera AI, echoed this, adding, "Integrating Europa AIPU into Advantech’s platforms will empower industrial customers with unprecedented AI performance and energy efficiency, enabling the next generation of smarter, faster, and more sustainable edge applications."
This enhancement of Edge AI capabilities answers a critical demand emerging among European manufacturers and plant operators for scalable, low-power, high-performance solutions. As companies strive to remain competitive in sectors like advanced robotics, autonomous vehicles, and complex industrial vision systems, innovations such as the EAI-3841 series are positioned to offer a leap forward in productivity, accuracy, and energy efficiency. The module is uniquely suited for multi-camera analysis requirements found in applications such as robotic vision, intelligent traffic control, in-vehicle systems, and precision diagnostics in healthcare manufacturing environments.
Beyond technological advancement, the partnership highlights a strategic market direction, with Advantech continuing to expand its AI chipset integration portfolio. The firm has a history of successful collaborations with global technology leaders such as Intel, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, and Hailo. Its focus now, in close alignment with Axelera AI, is to ensure that vertical industrial markets—particularly across Europe—have direct and timely access to sophisticated, tailored platforms for AI at the edge. This is an important milestone as the regional industrial sector faces mounting pressures for digital transformation, regulatory compliance, and the ever-increasing need for sustainable operation.
For system integrators, automation specialists, and technology vendors, the rapid acceleration of Edge AI guaranteed by this partnership provides vital opportunities for differentiation, new service development, and the deployment of advanced industry 4.0 solutions. The EAI-3841 series and associated joint offering are set to become reference solutions for manufacturers and facility managers looking to leverage advanced AI without compromising on power, real-time capability, or ease of deployment. As edge applications continue to proliferate within Europe’s manufacturing and automation environments, the Advantech-Axelera partnership is strategically timed to empower the region’s digital advancement and industrial competitiveness moving into 2026.
