Water activity is defined as the availability of free water in a sample and should not be confused with water content. The water activity is given as the aw - value with a range between 0 (absolute dryness) and 1 (condensed humidity).
Only the free water takes an active part in the exchange with the ambient humidity and can form an ideal medium for microbiological growth on the product surface which influences the microbiological stability. Water activity also has an important effect on the chemical reactions, texture, colour and taste.
Relative humidity and temperature transmitter for standard HVAC applications. The HygroMaxx excels with high performance and low price and versatility. The 3 models available are for room, duct and remote mounting.
The combined RH/T sensor is very robust and stable. The transmitter can be calibrated at 3 humidity and 1 temperature point. The intuitive menu operation makes the handling easy and efficient. All functions such as calibration, output signal scaling and selection, password protection etc. can be operated by the front keypad.
Another advantage is the robust housing and the big display for a clear reading. The HygroMaxx provides a scalable analogue output voltage or current. A factory calibration certificate is available as option. The HygroMaxx can also be connected to the Novasina data logging system HygroGuard 30 and integrated in a monitoring network and combined with Novasina hygrostats StatMaxx.

A big plus of this instrument is the integrated automatic zero-point calibration system, which makes the PascalMaxx very long-term stable and accurate. The transmitter can be calibrated at 2 points and provides an analogue output as well as a relay contact with alarm functions. All parameters for calibration, alarm setting, password protection, output range setting etc. are done via the front keypad.
A factory calibration certificate is available as option.
The PascalMaxx can also be connected to the Novasina data logging system HygroGuard 30 and integrated in a monitoring network and combined with Novasina hygrostats StatMaxx.

A big plus also here is the integrated automatic zero-point calibration system, which makes the instrument very long-term stable and accurate. The state-of-the-are piezo-resistive membrane in combination with the auto-zero and factory temperature calibration make these instrument the most accurate in its class.
The instrument calibration and settings are done via the PascalTool Win software. A 2 point calibration, signal output range setting, signal testing and air speed calculation function are only a few of the manifold functions available with this unique sensor.

The Pascal-ST/Z can also be connected to the Novasina data logging system HygroGuard 30 and integrated in a monitoring network and combined with Novasina hygrostats StatMaxx.

The Novasina laboratory instruments are used to measure the parameter of water activity in a product, normally foodstuff, pet food, pharmaceutical ingredients, powders etc.
3 product lines are available, the LabMaster-aw with temperature stabilised measurement chamber and pre-conditioning chamber, extendable channels, user and sample database; the LabTouch-aw with touch-screen and semi-temperature stabilised measurement chamber; the LabSwift-aw for mobile use with battery power option.
All instruments have the unique high precision sensor on board with stored calibration data and can also be calibrated with reusable Novasina humidity standards.
