Company : Galltec Mess- und Regeltechnik

Category : Sensing Instruments and Sensors

Key Products : Industrial sensors, Humidity Sensors

Established in 1975 by Gebrüder Gall (brothers Gall and later renamed, Galltec joined with MELA Sensortechnik in 1999. Today  Galltec + Mela offer measurement and control instruments for humidity and temperature for a wide range of applications: hygrostats and sensors with the classic Polyga®  humidity measuring element, or sensors with the capacitive Mela® sensor element, sensors with a digital Plug-and-Measure-Unit which can be directly calibrated, controllers and accessories.

Duct Mounting & Wall Mounting

The core part of the D Series is the digital calibrated dModul, which processes the measurement values of relative humidity (0 ... 100 %RH) and temperature individually to the transmitter electronics for digital conversion to standardised analogue signals (0…1VDC, 0…10VDC or 4…20mA).

The industrial versions (series DK for duct mounting and series DW for wall mounting) can be applied at operating temperatures between -30 ... 80°C (storage temperatures -40 … 85°C) Within these limits the measurement range of temperature is at choice.

At customer’s preference, as well, is the conversion of the measurement values to other relevant climatic factors, such as enthalpy, absolute humidity, dew-point temperature, water content or wet-bulb temperature.

Industrial Temperature Sensors

This robust class of humidity sensors of Galltec+Mela can be operated under extreme operating conditions. A transmitter housing made of diecast aluminium with a stainless steel sensor component Ø 15 mm with sinter filter is characteristic for this class.

These sensors are offered with different sensor tube lengths and an operating temperature up to 125°C in the channel version.  In the two-piece version, they are manufactured for an operating temperature of up to 200°C or a pressure of 25 bars.

Humidity & Temperature Sensors

Humidity & temperature measurement is used in potentially explosive areas. The intrinsically safe humidity and temperature sensors with ATEX licence made by Galltec+Mela are certified for use in potentially explosive areas in the categories 1/2 G and 2 D.

The sensors with an analogue output signal 4...20 mA have been designed electrically so that power supply units of up to 24 V can be used. Standard measurement ranges of the sensors are 0...100 %rh and 20...+80 °C. Special versions are available on request.

The inherently safe instruments made by Galltec+Mela can be used for a wide range of applications thanks to their certification and in addition to that, offer a real alternative to other often very costly transmitters.

Plug-and-Measure / Series PM15P:

The PMU-P measuring heads of the humidity and temperature sensor PM15P are calibrated and thus enable a replacement within seconds. Replaced measuring heads can be recalibrated in the factory.

The transmitter with the hx processor uses the values of the relative humidity and the temperature to calculate the dew point temperature, the enthalpy, the mixing ratio, the absolute humidity or the wet-bulb temperature, in accordance with the laws of physics. The values are emitted at two analogue outputs with the standardised signals 0...10VDC, 0...1VDC, 0...20mA or 4...20mA.

Plug-and-Measure

The PMU-V measuring heads of the humidity and temperature sensors of the series PM-V are calibrated and thus enable a replacement within seconds. Replaced measuring heads can be recalibrated in the factory.

The transmitters of the PM-V series are available as rod shaped sensors, but also in two versions for duct mounting.
