An Innovative Seismic Switch GST-43-M from ICP DAS is hitting the world

An Innovative Seismic Switch GST-43-M is hitting the world, such as fires, road/bridge damages, building collapse, etc. that really threaten people’s lives. Therefore, establishing a complete earthquake warning system becomes important and urgent to prevent any further significant damages.

GST-43-M is an advanced seismic switch equipped with a PC/AT embedded controller inside and running Mini OS7 operation system. GST-43-M has the brilliant feature of extreme high boot-up speed in just 0.1 second and provides the real-time monitoring and/or controlling functions for any emergency reactions needed. In addition, the built-in tri-axial MEMS accelerometers acquired vibration signal by 100Hz sampling rate and calculate the STA / LTA algorithm to achieve earthquake detection.

GST-43-M has two digital outputs(D/Os) to conduct users’ control requirements, and supports both Modbus RTU/TCP for connecting with host PC PLC, and/or HMI. GST-43-M could be applied in many different fields. For instance, install a GST-43-M around the buildings and factories. As the earthquake happens, the two built-in D/Os turn off the pointed facilities or gas switches before the magnitude attains to the destructive level. Furthermore, it could transmit the detected seismic-waves readings back to control center through Ethernet or Modbus TCP/RTU. ICP DAS Launches A New Intelligent GPRS Remote Terminal Unit with GPS function- GT-540P.

GT-540P is the latest intelligent GPRS Remote Terminal unit provided by ICP DAS. It supports 850/900/1800/1900 MHz Quad-band frequency and built in a high performance 32 bits CPU and DI/O, AI function. Furthermore, GT-540P provides GPS function.

Through the RS-485 interface, GT-540P could be linked to 3 Modbus RTU devices. When the data from local I/O, Modbus RTU devices and GPS is collected, the data could be transferred to the management center through GPRS. Users have two communication ways to send the data back: one is transferring the data via GPRS. The GPRS RTU protocol developed by ICP DAS will automatically transfers data to remote M2M RTU Center by the defined time scale or DI/AI event-triggers. Meanwhile, ICP DAS also provides corresponding software include M2M RTU Center, M2M RTU Win32 API library and OPC server for RTU devices to help users building a system easily. The other way is that GT-540P also could send I/O data by e-mail.

Besides the data transmission, users could implement local I/O control through the built-in 6 DI, 2DO and 1AI function. Moreover, GT-540P also has I/O data logger function which could save I/O and GPRS data in micro SD card.

I-2533 is a local CAN bridge that connects two CAN bus systems via fiber transmission medium. I-2533 complies with the ISO 11898-2 standard and strengthens itself with 2500 Vrm iCoupler isolation on CAN side to ensure the completeness of data transmission. The wide temperature design supports I-2533 to operate in the environment from - 25 ~ 75.

Longest Transmission Distance up to 2 km and Highest Baud Rate up to 1 Mbps

I-2533 supports the maximum transmission distance up to 2 km and the highest baud rate up to 1 Mbps. No matter what the baud rate CAN network uses, it won't affect the transmission distance. That means, even though the CAN network uses the highest baud rate 1 Mbps, the maximum transmission distance could still be 2 km.

Two Isolated CAN network design

The two isolated CAN network could operate independently. If there is bus error on one CAN bus side of I-2533, it will not induce any impact on the other CAN network.

Setting the baud rate depends on the user's requirement

Users could set the baud rate of CAN network based on their applications. Then the two CAN network could exchange the data through I-2533.

Moreover, ICP DAS provides the utility tool for user-defined baud rate setting and message filter configuration. Through the utility tool, users could set the baud rate they want and customizes the message filter. When the two CAN network with different baud rate connects, the filter could filter unnecessary message and reduce the bus loading of the network.
