Posys Motion Control GmbH & Co.KG (former company name: servo Antriebstechnik) started as a distributor for AMC amplifiers. In 1987 we started as one of the first companies world-wide to develop our own PC-based Motion Controllers starting with the POSYS 101, 102 and 103. We are now pride to show the fourth generation of PC-based Motion Controllers: POSYS 1800, 1900 and 3000 series for PC104, PCI bus and as a standalone controller with full PC and server functionality integrated providing up to 4 axes of dedicated control and up to 256 additional controllers via field bus (RS485, CAN or Ethernet/EtherCat).

PCI-Bus motion controllers

It is a state-of-the-art 1 to 4 axes PCI-Bus motion controller supporting multiple host connection modes and motor types. The POSYS® 1900 supports parallel-bus via PCI-Bus, serial communication (RS232) and CAN 2.0B. Motor types supported are DC brushed servo, brushless servo (internal and external commutation), micro stepping and stepper motors, and each axis individually configurable. Other features are the fast servo loop update rates of 51, 2 µs/1 axes to 256 µsec/4 axes, 8 Mcounts/sec quadrature encoder input and on-board trace capabilities. Additionally the software was enhanced to support circular interpolation and G-Code commands.

A special feature only available on POSYS Motion Controls POSYS® 1800/1900 controllers is the ability to define additional PID parameters which become active under user-configurable circumstances. The main point is to allow the controller to activate an additional set of parameters at any time without interaction by the host or host software to compensate jerk, heavy load accelerating or stiction (as on Piezo motors) and partially varying system friction due to high tolerances within the mechanics.

PC/104-Bus motion controllers

It is a state-of-the-art 1 to 4 axes PC/104-Bus motion controllers supporting multiple host connection modes and motor types. The POSYS® 1800-B supports parallel-bus via PC/104-Bus and capable of being used as a standalone controllers via serial communication RS232/485 or CAN 2.0B only supplying 5 VDC. Motor types supported are DC brushed servo, brushless servo (internal and external commutation), micro stepping and stepper motors, and each axis individually configurable. Other features are the fast servo loop update rates of 51, 2 µs/axis, 8 Mcounts/sec quadrature encoder input and on-board trace capabilities.

A new interface was added to support up to 4 axes with SSI interface by default. The on-board FPGA is also customizable to use this interface for alternative purposes. E.g. it is possible to re-configure the I/Os (please request costs) to attach bi-directional working absolute encoders like Heidenhain EnDat or BiSS aso. The use of a digital joystick or just simply increasing the number of available digital I/Os in any combination can be accomplished. These I/Os can be linked to other I/Os or to certain motion processor events to react on certain conditions.

Motion Control Applications Posys-3104

It is a PC/104 form factor board dedicated to high performance motion control applications with extensive interpolation functionality. The POSYS® 3104 is designed to control up to 4 axes of servo and stepper motors and provides hardware linear, circular, Bit Pattern and continuous interpolation which allow to perform the most complex motion profiles. Update rates per axis do not exist as each axis runs in absolute real-time mode simultaneously which makes these boards to one of the best performing motion controllers for up to 4 axes in the market.

The POSYS® 3104 is a low-cost PC104 motion controller offering a wide range of possibilities. The controllers is dedicated to pulse & direction output which allows to control any type of motor provided the driver/amplifier is capable to accept pulse & direction signals. Many amplifiers on the market exist for this purpose (we supply versions from AMC) which can even be configured for either brushed or brushless servo motors.

The POSYS® 3004 (Designed & Made in Germany) is a PC/104 form factor board dedicated to high performance motion control applications with extensive interpolation functionality. The POSYS® 3004 in addition provides an on-board DOS-like RTOS with 8 MB SDRAM and 8 MB Flash RAM with integrated Web, FTP and Telnet server for communication purposes via the x3 RS232/RS485 serial, x1 Ethernet, x1 USB1.1 or x2 CAN 2.0b interface which enhances this board for a variety of connection solutions. This allows maintenance, executing, monitoring, updating and diagnostics to be performed easily via network, field bus, Internet or Intranet. The multitasking capability allows up to 12 tasks to be executed simultaneously. Together with the CoDeSys IEC 61131-3 Runtime library integrated, this board can be used for almost any kind of motion control application. We recommend AMC,s digital servo drives and the Click & Move®* software. This software is based on PLC Open®* and supports the POSYS® 3004 directly.
