WiLAN's (WILN +4.8%) Automation Middleware Solutions subsidiary has bought "patented technology that relates to the automation of industrial facilities, including manufacturing plants and refineries."
Along with the deal, WiLAN has ""entered into a licensing partnership, with a pioneering developer of industrial automation technology, which gives WiLAN responsibility for licensing a patent portfolio with demonstrated license value." Revenue from new licenses stemming from the partnership will be shared.
