With the constant push for more automation in factories, one Cedarburg company is growing its market share through acquisition.

Doig Corp., an industrial distributor of factory automation systems and parts, has bought Automation Solutions Plus of Weston, near Wausau. The merged business will operate as a stocking branch for Doig, and gives Doig access to a wider range of customers.

“This deal broadens the base for access to more products and technical resources for both locations," said CEO Bob Doig. "We work with some of the best automation solutions manufacturers in the world, and are thrilled to be able to offer their products to a wider selection of customers throughout Wisconsin.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The combined company will distribute motion control, robotics, sensors circuit breakers and other parts used in automating factory tasks.
