CBRE Group Inc. bought Brookfield-based Environmental Systems Inc. building system technology company, according to a Tuesday announcement.

The Brookfield company was founded in 1986, and provides energy management services and works on building automation, security and other systems. The deal by CBRE follows the Los Angeles real estate company’s announcement that in the late third or early fourth quarter of this year, it will acquire Johnson Controls Inc.’s Global WorkPlace Solutions group.

Bill Concannon, chief executive officer, global corporate services for CBRE, said acquiring ESI helps satisfy the increasing demand for new building controls technology and remote monitoring.
