Kumud Metal Foundry - Non-Ferrous Castings, Globe Valves, Gate Valves and Manganese Bronze

Kumud Metal Foundry manufactures all types of non-ferrous castings in copper-, aluminium- and zinc-based alloys as per international standards. Kumud Metal specialises in manufacturing pump castings, valve bodies (gate, globe, butterfly, sluice, check and non-return valves), impellers (open and close type), strainers, seat rings and wedges in aluminium bronze alloys.

We also manufacture all alloys as per customer specifications ranging from the smallest components of 0.050kg to a 450kg single piece. Located in Mumbai, India, Kumud Metal has set up its second unit at Tarapur in the Thane district. The new unit is equipped with a spectrometer and microscope for online checking of material before it is poured in the mould box. This unit is also equipped with a jolt squeeze type of moulding machine to increase productivity.

Kumud Metal also specialises in very thin-walled and intricate castings, and also manufactures castings for propellers, engine bodies and cooling system for boats.

NON-FERROUS CASTINGS

Kumud Metal has gained expertise in non-ferrous castings and makes them as per customer specifications. Non-ferrous castings include aluminium and aluminium alloys, copper and copper alloys, zinc and zinc alloys.

GLOBE VALVES

The valves produced by Kumud Metal are widely used in the petrochemicals, gas, electricity and water supply sectors. The company manufactures gate, globe and butterfly valves. Valves are available in two types – wafer and flange. Though custom designs are available, globe valves are available in three main body types – angle design, Y-design and multi-piece design globe valves. Globe valves are linear motion valves with rounded bodies and they consist of moving parts such as disk, valve stem and hand-wheel.

GATE VALVES

Kumud Metal manufactures gate valves at global quality standards. The gate valves are also known as knife or slide valves. The gate valves are of two types: parallel and wedge-shaped. Gate valves made by the company are linear motion valves, where a flat closure element slides into the flow stream to provide shut-off.

MANGANESE BRONZE

Kumud Metals provides castings in manganese bronze. The world-class castings of manganese bronze made by the company offer several advantages, including high strength and rust resistance. The castings in manganese bronze are widely used in the industrial and domestic sectors.
